July, 2008 Meeting
On July 2 2008, the AHIC Successor organization held two identical public teleconferences to discuss the draft AHIC Successor Board of Directors Selection Process. During the meeting, LMI-Brookings and AHIC Successor Planning Group members shared their opinions regarding the process, and other AHIC Successor stakeholders participated in a listen-only capacity.
Subsequent to the July 2 meeting, we collected public comment on the selection process through July 8, 2008. Nominations for Board of Directors candidates were accepted via the AHIC Successor website from July 14 to August 4, 2008. A panel of representatives from the four AHIC Successor planning groups evaluated the field of candidates and provided recommendations to the three incorporators and the Interim CEO for selection of the final Board. The inaugural Board of Directors was announced on September 23, 2008. We appreciate the contributions of the participants in this important step toward creating the AHIC Successor governance structure.
